Wildflower Soul
Wildflowers are more beautiful when you have a loving family to photograph with them.
By an interesting turn of events, I found a field of wildflowers in Harrisburg back in June. You can read my explanation on how I found it on the sneak peek. From that moment forward, I knew I was going to photograph here.
Not only from choosing the golden hour of the day, but the flowers made the photos soft and warm-feeling. I feel that those photos define how I like to take photographs.
Big thanks to the R family for volunteering to be my subjects :) I didn’t know how this particular location would turn out so wanted to make it a personal project. Hey, I even got a chance to use my recent purchase of the white cradle! I was one happy camper.
The R family also made the session go very easy for me by letting me place their adorable daughter how I envision for the photos. For several shots, we even put their daughter on the grass. She did such an amazing job! She seemed to enjoy touching and playing with flowers and grasses too.
I could not help noticing, but their daughter was wearing a really cute cloth diaper (or was it a diaper cover?). I thought those were awesome for photo sessions. Maybe you’d like to have your baby naked for sessions, but sometime it doesn’t work out without diapers. Adding some colors to the photos by wearing cloth diapers or even diaper covers could be great ideas and a solution for this.
The mom of the family owns a small business, Heavy Doody. They mainly sell wet bags of all different sizes in a variety of fabrics. You can also shop for fleece and wool diaper covers! It’s definitely a must have item for a photo session.
I can’t never pass on a crying baby’s photos. Another reason why it’s called a lifestyle portrait session – to document their personality in every moment. I love this photo!
