Happy 1st Birthday, Kayden!

As I have mentioned several times previously, Kayden and I have a sweet, special relationship together. I’ve known this little cuteness since she was still kicking in her mommy’s tummy. I’ve witnessed Kayden’s mom’s bump and known their anticipation of having this little girl; their desires to hold her in their arms was so special.

Roughly a month after meeting Kayden in the tummy, she finally decided to come to this world in mid June last year. I was invited back to photograph her newborn session.

I’ve photographed her numerous occasions after the newborn session, but her first birthday meant a lot to me as well. I can’t believe she’s already one! Looking back all these memories and photographs, I guess I needed to convince myself that she really is one now.

Her birthday was special to her as well. She got to eat two cakes for the cake smashing session! All her outfits and birthday props and crafts were made by her own mother. Isn’t that sweet? (I’ll have a separate post on her mother’s business in a few weeks.)

How did she have the opportunity to have more than one cake? Well, we tried to do the session in the evening and it was definitely after her bed time once we started doing the cake smashing. She was way too tired to have the cake. She wanted to eat, but the tiredness took over her and she didn’t want to continue. So, we decided to do have two cake smashing sessions! What a lucky girl :)

Not only did she enjoy the cakes, but also she also got balloons and outside bath time under the sun!

Happy Birthday Kayden. Thanks for a wonderful year of happiness and joy you brought for me as well. I’m excited to see you grow even healthier and stronger year after year.
