Back in April, I had such a great time photographing Phaedra near the Kurtz’s Mill Covered Bridge in Lancaster County Park.
Phaedra was one of the 11 photo contest winners in Om Baby Pregnancy & Parenting Center’s 2014 Calendar Photo Contest. Her photo will be appearing in the month of June once the calender is finished! I can’t wait to see it :)
2014 Calendar Photo Contest is Om Baby‘s project to raise funds for the Laura Keaveny Memorial Scholarship Fund. You can find out more here.
Photographing a 2-year-old is probably one of the hardest subjects, and oh boy… she was non-stop and had so much energy! It was a blast spending the afternoon with soon-to-be big sister Phaedra and her mommy though!
She was wearing one of the cutest tutus I’ve seen! It was a crochet one. Totally awesome.
I know it’s kind of personal, but I have so much on my plate right now. I am going to take it easy on the Sit Back Sunday blog series. I might not be able to post weekly, but thanks for visiting my blog and reading! I will post as much as I can. Thanks for your continuous support!

Last April, I photographed Live at Stacks with Bryan Herber & Jon Rossi event at Penn State Harrisburg in Middletown PA. This was more of a fun shoot and personal.
Bryan Herber and Jon Rossi are musicians from the Harrisburg area. The duo played the unique blend of piano and an electric cajon drum. Jon is a versatile percussionist who accompanies different artists and groups with congas, the cajon, shakers, cymbals and much more.
It was a different type of music than I normally listen to, but I had a great time both listening to their music and photographing the event :)

Hello there, Yumi. Welcome to the world :)
Baby Yumi decided to make her grand entry 8 days later than the due date, but she was finally here in mid-March. She and my dad share the same birthday. How cool is that!
Baby Yumi’s mom and I are good friends and I was so glad to be a part of this new chapter of their lives as they welcomed the 2nd baby. One of Yumi’s grandmothers who lives in Japan was visiting them and hoped to meet her in person before she had to leave, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. As I could tell from the session – this girl loves to sleep! I bet she was so comfortable being in her mommy’s tummy and probably chilling there until it was time to go. I hope her Japanese grandma can hold Yumi in her arms soon!
When I first met this family a couple of years ago, their oldest son was about 2 years old. He’s grown into such a gentle, kind boy who is ready to be a big brother now! You can check out a portrait session with him almost 2 years ago — here.
Thanks for letting me photograph your beautiful 10 day old daughter. Congratulation on the newest addition to your family!
I just want to let you all know, I offer complete documentary coverage of labor/childbirth. Please contact me at yoko@yokography.com :)

Hello Sunday. I wish it still is!
This is Memorial Weekend Sunday and Monday is Memorial Day. It’s a U.S. federal holiday that occurs every year on the last Monday of May. It’s a day to remember the men and women who lost their lives during their service in the U.S. Armed Forces. It is also typically known as the start of the summer :) I will talk about this more next Sunday.
メモリアルデー、または戦没将兵追悼記念日(せんぼつしょうへいついとうきねんび)とは、連邦政府が定めた米国祝日です。毎年5月の最終月曜日。兵役中に亡くなった米国男女を追悼する日です。
Starting off the long weekend with 2nd shooting a wedding on Saturday and photographing a birthday party Sunday afternoon – I must admit it’s been a great weekend so far.
I didn’t forget to enjoy my favorite meal of the day either ;) Chocolate swirl buns were out of the world, even though I sort of cheated by using the packaged ones. They were not as sweet as regular cinnamon buns and I liked them more. I found an awesome recipe which I can make it from scratch. Maybe, next time.
2 Saturdays ago, my friends and I decided to participate in The Color Run™ 5k – Baltimore. Since their debut event in January 2012, it’s the single largest event of its type in the nation. It is still growing and they doubled (more than that!) their events this year. There’s a 5k going on somewhere in a different city on almost every Saturday!
It is also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet and is a unique paint race, celebrating healthiness and happiness. The race is un-timed and the color runners are covered in different color powders at each kilometer. A gigantic “Color Festival” finale at the finish line is something you can’t miss!
It’s a great way to promote healthiness while participants have a lot of fun!
I didn’t want to drag around my camera, so enjoy some cell phone pics :)
Have a wonderful Memorial Day!
